dumb news. So, that new "Freedom Tower" will be built - 1776 ft, which is cool, and the tallest in the world, awesome. However, "The revised tower design has the same amount of commercial space, one-quarter of what was lost on September 11, 2001".
Why would you do that? We are on an island, there is no where to go but up. Were the towers empty in Aug, 2001? No. Will they be empty when it is finished? Of course not. 1/4. Take the room you are in right now, imagine it being a fourth of the size... Lame.
And Canada, what hippies live up there? Marijuana is ok, gays can get married, health care for everyone? Dirty commies, pinkos, Hippies.
gotta go shoot more, don't worry, it's fun.

Chillin' in Newark, went to his old 'hood, picked up some more of his boys, went to the cemetery, shot them all there, went to an abandoned house, I shot them there as well, went to the studio, hung, went to Ikea, and now I have a desk. I like it.
I enjoyed playing with cliche.
I gave to two beggars today, they were very polite. I left my wallet in the car and got a free lunch.

People in New York City are learning all about this with the new stadiums etc. New London is beautiful... a beautiful shit hole. Over the past 7 years the fight has gone up the courts and, amazingly, made it to the supreme court. The supreme court voted to kick out the families and put up the hotel. Tough, I don't know... all of my local friends were VERY anti-developlment. Then again, they were all dirty hippies. New London was/is dying. Phizer put up a gigantic plant, and that might help, but the place has potential.
Like I said, I don't know. I was there - I think it would help the area. I feel bad for the families. The part that gets me is, "New London officials countered that the private development plans served a public purpose of boosting economic growth that outweighed the homeowners' property rights, even if the area wasn't blighted." Even if it wasn't blighted... yeah... it was a nice little area, don't you think they could have found somewhere else in that dirty little town? Weird.
Dissenting O'Connor wrote. "The beneficiaries are likely to be those citizens with disproportionate influence and power in the political process, including large corporations and development firms." Which is probably true... however, didn't those same people build many of the great structures and cities that we have now? Monuments, parks, libraries, freeways, metro systems, railroads (ooop, we won't talk about railroad swindles)... but my point is - it does good for the future and for the masses. Can you put a price on that? How much do you give to a family that has been living in the same house for generations? Tough one.
Sadly, I don't have all the answers - I wish I did (I also wish I was omnipotent) but that isn't going to happen. So I say, timidly, I hope it all works out, I think it will, the town needs some help.

"The two sides are deadlocked.
Assuming Mr Bolton does not withdraw, the president is faced with a tough political choice.
He has the power to appoint his man over the heads of the senators during their recess for the 4 July holiday - an appointment which would last until 2007.
Would that look like a bold move overcoming petty partisan politics, or the desperate strategy of a lame-duck second-term president?Mr Bush's advisors must decide. "
Then there is the old news of knowing where Bin Laden is... "Asked if he [ CIA director Porter Goss ] had a good idea where Bin Laden is, he said: "I have an excellent idea of where he is. What's the next question?""
CNN quoted him saying ""When you go to the question of dealing with sanctuaries in sovereign states, you're dealing with a problem of our sense of international obligation, fair play," Goss said. "We have to find a way to work in a conventional world in unconventional ways.""
fair play? why are we worrying about fair play NOW? why don't we just invade? duh. silly CIA.
on another note, the content for my new web page is coming along, now I just need to get good at HTML. sweet.

I also went to a party with film / tv folks in Park Slope. The park is sort of growing on me, don't tell anyone because it is a pain in the ass to get to. After that - Jenga in the city.
Few shots of the weekend... speaking of shots, if you know anyone who needs headshots, send 'em my way.

Celebrities are funny, not only the idea of them, but getting married after a short while... let's see, how long do we give Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes? (they are getting married, and I found out on BBC before CNN, weird... maybe because it happened in Paris, and we don't like the french, duh)
In the "WHY" category of the news, we bring you -
"Gov. Jeb Bush asked a prosecutor Friday to investigate why Terri Schiavo collapsed 15 years ago, calling into question how long it took her husband to call 911 after he found her."
-seriously, move on.
"The Senate may be within one or two votes of passing a constitutional amendment to ban desecration of the U.S. flag, clearing the way for ratification by the states, a key opponent of the measure said Tuesday."
-I love this country, but people are going to do what they are going to do, and it doesn't hurt anyone (physically), it just is a proof that we are able to do what we want, a true example of freedom.
"A Kansas preacher and gay rights foe whose congregation is protesting military funerals around the country said he's coming to Idaho tomorrow to picket the memorial for an Idaho National Guard soldier killed in Iraq."
-idiot. This is the same idiot with the "God Hates Fags" website. I rarely use the word hate, I don't like it - I don't think things are so black and white. There are very few things in this world that I hate. I personally don't think God hates anything - being that He made everything. I am not going to write much more about this man, I may look at his site a bit and get mad, but I believe that I can say with certainty that I hate Fred Phelps. It is so sad. Hate only breeds more hate and fear. And ignorance is at the base of it all. Fred, thank you for thinking that you are taking care of my eternal soul - Stop it.

"This collection is free and open for everyone to use.
Our goal in digitizing these movies and putting them online is to provide easy access to a rich and fascinating core collection of archival films.
By providing near-unrestricted access to these films, we hope to encourage widespread use of moving images in new contexts by people who might not have used them before."
sweet. The layout isn't super cool yet, but I have faith... oh, and for those of you who like to read... they've got a lot of books too.
ooo... I just watched some of the old newsreels - so good. I keep adding to this post, but really - check this out if you like history, or tv, or are bored, or the internet, you know - whatever floats your toboggan.

"Guiyang, China Here's some exciting medical news from the Chinese government: Smoking is great for your health.
Cigarettes, according to China's tobacco authorities, are an excellent way to prevent ulcers.
They also reduce the risk of Parkinson's disease, relieve schizophrenia, boost your brain cells, speed up your thinking, improve your reactions and increase your working efficiency.
And all those warnings about lung cancer? Nonsense."

Everyone dresses up - or down, gets out of the city, drinks, and spends money to get excited with a crowd of strangers by watching beautiful animals. Cool, unless you are addicted and very, very sad.
I lost my first two bets because I didn't know what I was doing, then I won in the next 6 races. I may have only won 10 cents and never made up for my first two bets, but I was entertained.
After the races the jumping began. Not the horses, but drunk humans. There were guys jumping over trash barrels using a crutch as a pole vault. This happened for a while until a guy in a suit and a guy with a badge came over... but THEN... then the crowd mentality picks up,"BOOOOOOOOOO" followed by, "LET THEM PLAY, LET THEM PLAY, LET THEM PLAY!" followed by, "YEAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!" very well done all around.
Then there was the train; packed with (mostly) sweaty, sunburned, inebriated, upper-middle-class (yuppies) gentlemen. a piece of fabric was attaching two people across the isle from each other. At first they made people jump or go under. Then the crowd mentality picks up and it was a game, involving the entire train, who would or wouldn't jump, who would limbo, what witty cheers could be made up to get people to sprint down a moving train and jump over a piece of cloth. Jolly good times.

It is like going to an omelet bar and after you taste your omelet you say to the chef, "Your pan makes great omelets." Yes. Yes it does.

Do you know what Chad Nicholson realized the other day, not only that Chad Nicholson's full name was "Chad Richard Nicholson" or with the middle initial it would be "Chad R. Nicholson", but the fact that Chad Nicholson (meaning - THIS Chad Nicholson) has very bad googleness.
There is a Chad Nicholson who is a rodeo announcer. (the one who stole chadnicholson.com) and do listen to his Flag Opening - it's awesome.
There is a Chad Nicholson who is a biker.
There is a Chad Nicholson who is a hockey player.
Then you finally have me, Chad R. Nicholson, and a picture of a laundry mat. sweet.
I, Chad Nicholson, am also in law school, a band instructor, play community college football, and got a DWI in upstate NY.
Yahoo is much nicer to chad. Chad is #2 with IMDB there and had my portrait done. whoop whoop.
will the real chad nicholson please stand up?
so, until my photo page goes up (Chad is thinking cnphoto.com ? nicholsonphotography ? chadnicholsonphotography? chadwaytoolonginternetaddress.com ? ) - I hope this will be the official home of the only artsy fartsy Chad Nicholson, that's me.
* Update, Chad Nicholson - me, chad nicholson, is now 2nd on the google list... still behind that other flippin' rodeo Chad Nicholson.
