"I copy that" is walkie-talkie talk for - I understand, will do, gotcha, ok, alright, yup, uh-huh, and much more depending on the inflection of the voice.

In an amazing reversal, "frist backs stem cell research".

It still doesn't mean I like you, baby steps toward the middle.

"Sen. Frist should not expect support and endorsement from the pro-life community if he votes for embryonic research funding," the Christian Defense Coalition said in a statement as Frist finished his speech.

"Senator Frist cannot have it both ways. He cannot be pro-life and pro-embryonic stem cell funding," said Rev. Patrick J. Mahoney, director of the group.

blah news blah

Remember "face off"? yeah, now it may be possible... "

Dr Siemionow shrugged off comparisons to the 1997 film Face/Off, starring John Travolta and Nicolas Cage as characters faces are switched.

"It was okay if you like Travolta," she said. "But it was just science fiction.""

bike dork news " Vinokourov joins Liberty Seguros" that means nothing to most of you, but he came from a team with 2 leaders and now he will be the main leader in a strong team, it's a good move. He'll be in the top five next year.
--

"Vice President Dick Cheney is leading a White House lobbying effort to block legislation offered by Republican senators that would regulate the detention, treatment and trials of detainees held by the American military."

That's silly, just be a human. Treat others like humans by including, "provisions to bar the military from hiding prisoners from the Red Cross; prohibit cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment of detainees; and use only interrogation techniques authorized in a new Army field manual." Is that really so hard?

I guess so... oh, and if you are changing things, why don't we change that whole - we're going to hold you forever without charging you - thang? If they really are terrorists, wouldn't we have a charge we could use on them? huh. lame.

I'm still organizing my photos from this past couple weeks, this weekend should be a great time as well, photos to come...

oh, and you aren't voting for me being hot or not, I'm very upset... I guess people on hot or not don't have my sense of humor. (see right column for update)

Good times.

It has been a great vacation.

quality family time, wedding fun, trees, lakes, sky, storms, A list celebrities, too much playing, oop - side note...

I was playing with widgets (it's a mac thing) and I came across one from Hot or Not... remember that? yeah, it's still around... yeah, I had a picture up two years ago... yeah, I updated it... I'm awesome... it may take a while to change the updation (updation? I like it). I showed my sister the site and she said, "oh yeah, I haven't been here since, like, before I had a laptop." Exactly.

anyway, sorry about that, back to famous people, oodyHarrelsonWay was next door because irginaMadsonVay is staying at my parents place. We (bro and sis) showed him and his entourage around the house, shot some darts, played some pool, drank some beer, etc. and before he left he invited us to his birthday party last night. We went and hung out with him and ohnC.ReillyJay and the likes of a pro wrestler turned governor. It was entertaining. Our Ex-Gov was kind enough to listen to questions asked by my on-his-way-to-a-Dr-in-philosophy-and-literature friend. "The Body" has been well trained in the art of deflection.

and one last note, I forgot to check Rotten Tomatoes (best movie review site) before watching a pop movie... mental note to self - just because a pretty girl was good in one movie doesn't mean another movie with her and explosions will be good.

... I was about to say, "I'll be home soon" but that is hard... is home "where the hat is" or where you grew up or all of the above?

Too far.

I don't know what is going on back in NYC, (I'm still in Minnesota) but this would make me very upset:

"New York Launches Random Bag Checks"

No.

Wrong.

I don't care if it is just my gym things, you do not get to go through my bag in public - we know it may happen in an airport, that's ok, in the SUBWAY, no.

"Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly said passengers selected for searches will be approached by officers, who will ask them what they're carrying and request that they open their bags. Those who decline "can't enter the system," he said." --- come on! So they go to another entrance, or to another line, or wait 5 minutes... you can't stop someone in such a large system, ridiculous.

I have never been one for protests, but I have a feeling the next 3 years are going to be full of them, I just wish I believed they did something good.

I don't know who this is supposed to frighten, (or secure) but it just makes me angry.

Going back to MN for a few weeks on Thursday, jonah is gone and the subletter is off for a while, too... anyone need a place to stay?

Our view is ok, not this good.

Poor Rove

Poor Rove... looks like he is actually getting caught for something...

Q Does the President stand by his pledge to fire anyone involved in the leak of a name of a CIA operative?

MR. McCLELLAN: Terry, I appreciate your question. I think your question is being asked relating to some reports that are in reference to an ongoing criminal investigation. The criminal investigation that you reference is something that continues at this point. And as I've previously stated, while that investigation is ongoing, the White House is not going to comment on it. The President directed the White House to cooperate fully with the investigation, and as part of cooperating fully with the investigation, we made a decision that we weren't going to comment on it while it is ongoing.

Q Excuse me, but I wasn't actually talking about any investigation. But in June of 2004, the President said that he would fire anybody who was involved in this leak, to press of information. And I just want to know, is that still his position?

What makes an adult?

It used to be that once you were married, had a child, a job, and a home you were an adult.

What is it now? Age? 18 years an adult does not make. 21, hah! After college? A job? The dictionary states:
  1. One who has attained maturity or legal age.
  2. Biology. A fully grown, mature organism.
huh, maturity... I like that one. How does one find maturity?

I tried making our apartment more mature; more art on the walls - fewer posters, my bed is off of the ground, we have matching silverware and plates... I have an office, business cards, a website... I can cook and clean and do laundry (though I may prefer not to do those things)... Why do I feel like something is still not "adult"?

I think the next step is taking care of my body, I have forgotten about that for a couple of years. I need help. I used to be physically active, I am calling out for activity partners. Ideas include (but are not limited to):
Sports: Tennis, Swimming, Biking, Frisbee, Sailing, Squash, Golf, Yoga.
Camping: Canoeing, Hiking, Mountain Biking, Skiing.
Eating: Having dinner parties, cooking for each other, wine tasting.
Arts: ... ok, I've got the art viewing/listening/watching down pretty solid, but we can always trade...

I'm serious about this, I have a car, rackets, suits, yoga mat, mad water skills, and a big kitchen. I want to own myself again but I need the regiment and entertainment that others provide.

Who's in?

We can pretend to be adults together... or kids, whichever is more fun.

The website is close.

It has a few bugs, empty pages, and broken links, but closer... that, and you can't search for it yet, blast.

Today I made a reel, wee.

sports, weee

Lance Armstrong is a classy guy. He was 2 seconds behind in the overall score yesterday, and then he was in first. The catch - the guy who would have TIED him crashed with 1.5K to the finish line (the other guy may have even beat him if the team stayed tight and finished the race together). Lance saw the footage and decided that he didn't want to wear the yellow jersey (that's how you tell who is in first place) because he wanted to respect the jersey, the sport, and his fellow riders by not taking the jersey from the result of a crash.

Classy. Then the race organizers threatened to disqualify him if he didn't wear the yellow jersey, so he put the shirt on top of his own.

In other sports news NYC didn't get the Olympics. good, not surprising.

good or bad?

Which do you want first, the good news or bad news?

good (because good is never funny) - party was a smashing success. good fireworks, good food, good beverages, and very good people. I found out I have a daily reader (I'm awesome) thanks ThinkTanker! Most people survived the trips up and down the ladder, no casualties that I know about. Now it is time to finish the keg.

bad - went to eat at a diner in williamsburg, I thought to myself, "myself, you should put your iPod away, nah - your only eating for a little while." upon the return to the car we noticed glass on the street... then in my car. "myself, someone stole your iPod." I looked, yup. poop.

so in the past half year:
Car was hit and run - $2,400
Side view mirror was hit - $450
I hit a car - $800
Mountain Bike was stolen - ?
my other bike was stripped to the frame and two wheels - ?
parking tickets - $a lot.
and now window, iPod, charger, iTuner, crap.

is it worth it? yeah. me likey me toys.

Now I just have to become a famous (read - rich) photographer, no problem.

it was a good lunch, though.

I just played a little capture the flag - ok, I played a lot of capture the flag. Now I have some more social events today, but I just wanted you all to be as excited as I am about this year's tour de france... if you haven't watched an entire race (even just one day of it, it takes 3 hours or so) you are not allowed to dismiss it. Armstong is out to win, team discovery channel is looking really strong. #122 on time warner, OLN. good stuff.
