and looked at some stars.
"I copy that" is walkie-talkie talk for - I understand, will do, gotcha, ok, alright, yup, uh-huh, and much more depending on the inflection of the voice.

I did a crude measurement on your stars picture. It looks like the angle of the arc travelled by the stars during the exposure of the film is approximately 3 degrees. Since the earth would rotate 360 degrees in 24 hours (= 1440 minutes), a 3 degree angle would correspond to approximately a 12 minute exposure.
Is that about right?
